Melissa Brown Goodall
Melissa Brown Goodall is the Senior Director of Environmental Innovations Initiative. She is developing a strategic vision to leverage Penn’s academic strengths and foster collaboration across disciplines to address the most pressing global environmental challenges: biodiversity, climate change and societal resilience. Before coming to Penn, Melissa was at Yale University – first with the School of the Environment, then with the Center for Environmental Law and Policy, and finally with the Office of Sustainability. Melissa is the Director of the Global University Climate Forum and a Strategic Advisor to the Center for Governance and Sustainability at the University of Massachusetts Boston. She earned her Ph.D. in Environmental Studies in 2015 and a joint degree in Resource Management and Administration in 1998 from Antioch University and her B.F.A. in Acting from New York University in 1992.

Jiang Nanqing, PhD in Ecology,graduated from Beijing Normal University. She did her research in the Netherlands, Japan, Israel and Kenya as Postdoc and research scientist. She has the expertise in environment and sustainable development. She was the senior programme officer of INBAR from 2007-2008, and worked at UNEP China Office from 2008-2018.

Rachel Bezner Kerr
Rachel Bezner Kerr is a Professor of Global Development at Cornell University with a background in sociology, environmental science, and international development. Her research, writing, and teaching focus on food systems, agriculture, and sustainable development in Africa. She conducts long-term research in Malawi and Tanzania, collaborating with smallholder farmers, NGOs, and government agencies to develop and evaluate sustainable agriculture interventions, using participatory research methods to test the impacts of agroecological approaches on livelihoods, nutrition, and sustainable land management for rural communities.

He has also been responsible for a number of international, ministerial, provincial and municipal projects. He was guest speaker at COP26, head observer at COP27, and guest speaker at the UN Conference on Energy.
